Two years after Near Death Revelations Blaze of Perdition returns
with their fourth album. With only four tracks yet clocking in at 46
plus minutes this is quite a bit to digest. While longest song Ashes
Remain is in many ways the best song on the album I will quibble with
the occasional clean vocals, I’m not categorically opposed but in this
instance I’m not convinced of their usefulness. Shortest song Weight
of Shadow is also probably the weakest but the album ends on a high
note with the excellent Detachment Brings Serenity. This is a well put
together album often at the edge of blackmetal, seeing what comes next
will be interesting.
